Crowds gather in Tehran to celebrate Iran's "victory" in the war against Israel.

Crowds gather in Tehran to celebrate Iran's "victory" in the war against Israel.

Thousands of people gathered Tuesday in Revolution Square in central Tehran to participate in celebrations organized by the Iranian government following the ceasefire announced between Iran and Israel , following twelve days of intense crossfire, according to a report by Alerta News 24.

Iranian state media broadcast images of the crowd waving national flags, carrying portraits of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, and chanting slogans alluding to the country's resistance.

Official coverage described the day as a demonstration of national unity , highlighting what authorities consider a “successful response” to the Israeli offensive.

Trump orders bombing of nuclear facilities in Iran

Shortly before the celebrations in Tehran, former US President Donald Trump confirmed that he had ordered a military operation against three Iranian nuclear sites : Fordow, Natanz, and Esfahan . The operation took place on Saturday, June 21, and, according to Trump himself, was aimed at dismantling Iran's nuclear program.

The attack included the use of B-2 bombers, F-16, F-22, and F-35 fighters, as well as the deployment of the USS Nimitz aircraft carrier to the region.

"We seek total and complete victory. I repeat, you know what victory is: no nuclear weapons," Trump said in an interview with Fox News.

Trump announces ceasefire, but tension persists

The mass rally in the Iranian capital came just hours after Trump also announced a negotiated ceasefire between Iran and Israel , brokered with support from Qatar.

The agreement was presented as a "complete cessation of hostilities," but both sides accused each other of violating it within hours of its entry into force.

The conflict began on June 12 , following an Israeli attack on strategic facilities in Iran, including the Natanz and Khondab nuclear complexes. In response, Iran launched more than 200 ballistic missiles , according to Israeli officials.

Despite the announced cessation, the international climate remains extremely cautious . The United States and European countries have warned that the conflict could resume at any time if a sustainable diplomatic solution is not reached.
